George was born in Tbilisi in 1982 into a musical family and in a very special house, that once belonged to the composer and pianist Franz Kessner (1851-1930). Notable musicians and performers would gather within these walls. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Licheli family came into possession of this house, however, the music in the house did not stop.
George's early interest in the piano was natural - at the age of three, he began to imitate his mother's passionate playing on the Kessner’s piano which still belongs to the Licheli family. He used to play the violin in an orchestra as a youngster and started writing his own melodies around 2004.
Ten years later Licheli's musical compositions were recorded with a symphony orchestra. It is then that he introduces the world to the now-famous work "Sister," which emerged from the distress caused by parting with his sister.
The first neoclassical album, "Ritorica," was released on digital platforms worldwide in 2020.
2021 - the beginning of touring activities. Large concerts with a symphony orchestra to the music of G. Licheli invariably evoke a flurry of emotions in the audience. After concerts, listeners most often say “feelings surged”, “goosebumps did not leave”, “music takes you to the clouds” ...
George has been dubbed a "new star" in the music and film industries and it is the Epic Film Genre, that his latest album “Epic” is set in.
In July 2021, Anthony Hopkins, who is well-known for his acting performances but few people know that he is also a composer, heard George's epic arrangement of his piece. Anthony was so moved that he wrote George a personal letter.
